As a strong advocate for housing affordability, Felipe supports renters' rights legislation, the full and appropriate use of the Sadowski Affordable Housing Trust Fund, and innovative solutions like co-living spaces and repurposing vacant properties, while pushing for property insurance reforms to stabilize the market. To enhance economic mobility, Felipe will champion fair wages, vocational education, student debt relief, small business relief, and equitable tax policies, all while prioritizing sustainable public transit and creating accessible, thriving communities where families can truly prosper. He also supports Medicaid Expansion, and will work hard to alleviate the cost of healthcare for Florida’s families.
Education
Felipe’s upbringing, shaped by his mother’s limited education, instilled in him a deep commitment to equitable learning for all. Overcoming cost and accessibility challenges, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Miami Dade College and St. Thomas University, an achievement that fuels his determination to break down barriers in education. Felipe passionately advocates for fully funded public schools, competitive teacher salaries, and the removal of excessive standardized testing to foster creativity and critical thinking. He recognizes the foundational importance of early education in shaping lifelong success and supports expanded access to affordable, high-quality preschool and childcare programs. Understanding the role of schools in holistic growth, Felipe champions mental health services, trauma-informed care, and comprehensive support systems for students and families. A staunch defender of academic freedom, he fights for diverse, inclusive curricula and opposes school privatization to ensure responsible use of taxpayer dollars. Felipe is committed to bold, forward-thinking action to combat climate change and protect Florida’s environment while ensuring a thriving economy for all. He prioritizes addressing the growing impacts of hurricanes by advancing resilient infrastructure improvements and working closely with Central Florida non-profits to support marginalized communities most affected by storms. Felipe’s Thriving Together Agenda takes aim at fossil fuel dependence by promoting widespread solar energy adoption, opposing harmful practices like fracking, and championing land and water conservation efforts to preserve Florida’s unique ecosystems. Inspired by New Mexico’s success, he advocates for green economy workforce development and renewable energy job training, creating a pathway to good-paying jobs while building a sustainable future. Felipe’s vision is clear: a resilient, innovative, and inclusive Florida that leads the fight against climate change and secures prosperity for generations to come.
Health Care
Felipe believes healthcare is a right and is dedicated to improving access, especially for marginalized communities. He supports expanding Medicaid, funding mental health services, and addressing reproductive justice through affordable care, including contraception and maternal health programs. Opposing restrictive abortion laws, he advocates for reproductive freedom and equitable policies to lower maternal health risks, particularly for Black women and communities of color.
